God's heart that none perish but all come to repentance and the example of leaders like the Apostle Paul have motivated a small band of disciples to seek after Jesus and to engage those who have yet to hear the greatest message in the world.  Paul wrote that he had traveled for some ten years preaching the Gospel from Jerusalem to Illycrium and that there was no place left where the Gospel hadn't been preached.  The passion and ambition of Paul and the heart of Jesus have motivated this network of believers to do whatever it takes to see the Gospel proclaimed throughout the world.

City Church Network is a community of church planting practitioners committed to the reaching the least reached, make disciples of all nations, and working toward the fruit of church planting movements until there is no place left. The original church, City Church of Woodbine, was planted in 2011 in Nashville, TN with a vision to reach the 90+ people groups who have immigrated to the Music City. Over time, the church staff realized we could more effectively reach the city through a network of reproducing churches meeting in apartment complexes, subdivisions, and businesses.  They began working to train and mobilize believers to embrace simple, reproducible strategies to saturate neighborhoods with the Gospel. For more of our story a short biography can be read below.

For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

Hebrews 13:14-16 (ESV)

In 2011 four families were sent out of lighthouse to intentionally engage the nations living in South Nashville with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At this point of time and continuing to this day the refugee and immigrant population is on the rise in the United States. The initial team in 2011 recognized the influx and set out to make disciples among the variety of people groups represented in their region. Shortly after getting started the team was trained in disciple making movements by an experienced team seeing multiplication of disciples all around the world. Through the training the team began to develop a heart to not only reach the refugees, but rather the entire city by creating networks of simple, reproducing churches across the entire city.

In 2013 the first wave of new believers began to spring up across the city, allowing for the team to be introduced to prominent evangelical leaders within the refugee communities, including two incredibly fruitful leaders, Eden and Dmitri. As a result from this new harvest a training program was launched involving 12 students from 10 different counties all receiving training in how to start simple churches across Nashville. As the movement progressed, many churches were started and new fruit was discipled to reproduce, with a specific focus on the unreached peoples of Nashville. In 2015 David Kaufmann, a core member of the 2011 team sent out of lighthouse, along with several of his disciples, were introduced to other church planting practitioners flying under the banner of the No Place Left coalition. Through interaction with the coalition of practitioners David and his team began to train all over the southeast in how to multiply simple churches with the aim of seeing the great commission fulfilled not only in Nashville, but also on a regional level.

In 2016 City Church Network continued to labor in the southeast and further evolved into a micro-missions organization allowing families and individuals to raise support through the network in order to reach the nations in Nashville and globally. Currently there are 13 staff working towards the goal of seeing 2000 reproducing churches planted in the Nashville Metro. The gospel is being proclaimed anywhere between 40 to 50 times per week as a result of City Church’s network. Additionally, missionaries are continuously being trained, and sent out to the nations overseas. The Lord has truly been and continues to be faithful to our network and we look forward in anticipation of what God desires to do in our city and beyond. We ask you to join with us on this journey as we see the day drawing near.
